Who we are

Pillai Consulting Inc. is an Alberta company that provides bookkeeping and finance-operations support, tax and CRA filing support, payroll operations, management consulting, accounting-system implementation and automation, and owned software products including Docket. Pillai Consulting Inc. is the merchant and contracting party for purchases described on this website.

Using this website

This website provides general business and product information. It is not accounting, tax, legal, investment, or other advice for a specific situation. Pillai Consulting Inc. does not provide audit, review, assurance, or compilation engagements. The scope and responsibilities for bookkeeping, filing support, consulting, and finance-operations work are defined in writing before an engagement begins. Website inquiries do not create an engagement, software account, subscription, or payment obligation.

Business customers and authority

Our services and Docket are offered to businesses and organizations. A person accepting terms or purchasing for an organization confirms that they have authority to bind that organization and provide the requested billing information.

Consulting and custom work

Consulting deliverables, responsibilities, timing, fees, cancellation terms, and customer dependencies are defined in an accepted proposal, engagement, or order form. Custom Docket integrations, Axon, TMS, accounting or ERP connections, migrations, automation, on-site work, and third-party costs are separately scoped and are not included in the standard Docket Core subscription unless expressly stated in writing.

Docket Core subscription

Docket Core is a month-to-month software subscription for the driver document workflow and office review dashboard. The public price is $299 CAD per month and includes up to 30 enabled driver accounts and 5 office/admin users. Each enabled driver account above 30 is $5 CAD per month. Applicable taxes are extra. Online self-service, when enabled, supports up to 300 enabled driver accounts. An enabled account counts toward the selected limit whether or not that person signs in during a billing period.

Checkout, activation, and renewal

When online signup is available, Stripe processes payment and the price, billing interval, driver quantity, taxes, and recurring-payment disclosure are shown before purchase. The subscription begins after payment confirmation and administrator activation. It renews monthly and is charged in advance until cancellation takes effect. Until online signup is enabled, requesting access is only an inquiry and creates no account or payment.

Changing seats or the service

Customers must not bypass account or seat controls. Requests to change the paid driver quantity, add more than the included office/admin users, or add separately scoped modules or integrations should be sent to support. Any price or scope change will be confirmed before it takes effect. Pillai Consulting Inc. may update future public pricing on advance notice; a customer-specific written price or discount controls for that customer while it remains in effect.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel a Docket Core subscription before the next renewal through an available Stripe billing portal or by contacting support. Access continues through the already-paid period unless access must be restricted for misuse, security, legal, or non-payment reasons. Charges for a started billing period are not normally refunded or prorated, except to correct a confirmed billing error or where required by law. The separate cancellation and refund policies form part of these terms.

Customer responsibilities

Customers are responsible for authorized users, account security, accurate billing and organization information, lawful instructions, and the records uploaded or processed through Docket. Customers must obtain any permissions needed for personal information or business records they provide and must review outputs and operational decisions that require their knowledge or authorization.

Acceptable use

Users may use Docket only for the customer's legitimate business purposes and within the purchased scope. Users must not attempt to bypass access controls, exceed paid seat limits, disrupt or probe the service, access another organization's information, introduce malicious content, or copy, resell, or reverse engineer the product except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Availability and changes

We work to operate Docket reliably, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Maintenance, security events, third-party failures, customer systems, connectivity, and circumstances outside reasonable control may affect access. We may make reasonable product changes for security, legal compliance, reliability, or product improvement while preserving the material purpose of the purchased service.

Ownership and customer data

Pillai Consulting Inc. and its licensors retain ownership of the website, Docket, branding, and reusable methods. Customers retain their rights in the records and materials they provide. Customers grant the access and processing rights reasonably needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the contracted service. The Privacy Notice and Data Processing Terms describe that processing.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict access for failed payment, material breach, security risk, unlawful use, or activity that threatens the service or another customer. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. Rights and payment obligations that by their nature should survive cancellation or termination continue to apply.

Written agreements control

If these terms conflict with a signed engagement, accepted proposal, order form, or customer-specific product terms, the more specific written agreement controls for that work. A private written discount or founding-customer arrangement does not change the public price or create a promotion available to other customers.

Governing law

Unless a specific written agreement says otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada. The more specific written customer agreement controls any different governing-law or dispute process for that engagement.
